Funeral Service for Rev  Joe Liggins 

Pastor Joe Liggins age 75 of Clarksville TX, transitioned to be with the Lord on January 13. 2026 in Clarksville Nursing Center,  Clarksville,TX. 

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at 2:30 pm at Citizens Funeral Home Chapel, 500 E. Church Street, Clarksville, TX.

A viewing will take place on Sunday from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm   (1 hour prior to service) at Citizens Funeral Home Chapel, 500 E. Church Street, Clarksville, TX.

Rev. Joe Liggins was born in Ladonia, Texas to the parentage of the late Leon and Mary Johnson Liggins on July 22, 1950.

He accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Hospitality

C.O.G.I.C. He later united with the Greater Mt. Carmel Baptist Church until he received his call to the ministry. He was ordain in April 1980.

Rev. Liggins received his education in Lamar County. After serving honorably, he became a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. Rev. Liggins Pastored Slate Rock Baptist Church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Mt. Carmel Reed's Prairie Baptist Church, Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church, and Pine Hill Baptist Church.

His parents; three sisters; and one brother preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

Sons: Kindel (Dorothy), Joseph, Cedric, and Adrian Daughter: LeKisha

Brothers: Lawrence and Clifford

Sister: Norma Walker

Sister-In-Law: Minnie Williams

A Special Friend: Mrs. Edith Crawford

9 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren neices, nephews, cousins and friends.
